and roses

St. Werburgh’s
Primary School
Bristol, UK

The Arnolfini Gallery asked Tee to develop an artwork that would integrate well with the new development of St. Werburgh’s Primary School. Since St. Werburgh’s is part of a Forest Schools programme, Tee decided to develop a workshop to press flowers and leaves from the nearby forrest and to use them for designs that would be printed on foils that would be mounted on the rosace-shaped windows, much to the same effect as stained glass. In a workshop, the children made their own pressed-flower journal and created compositions of the pressed flowers and leaves in the shape of the quarter-circles of the windows. These were used as inspiration for the arrangements of the collages.
